New Mahindra Thar Launching Soon
The Indian car manufacturer, Mahindra, is now all set to introduce the most outed five-door versions of the second generation thar. The new upcoming five-door Thar is a B2 segment SUV.
Meanwhile, the test mule of the new thar has been spotted several times testing on the Indian road with camouflage wrapping.
Size Of Mahindra 5 Door Thar
The five-door versions will have about three meters longer overall and will have 300 millimeters longer wheelbase as compared to the three-door versions.
Besides that, the new model will come with a number of exterior design changes than the current model. The new Mahindra 5 Door Thar will be based on Mahindra later Frame architecture as the Scorpio M.
Color Option In 5 Door Thar
According to the report, the new 5 DOOR Thar will come with optional 4X4 and 4X2 powertrain options and six new colors.
The upcoming 5 Door Thar will likely to be offered with hard top only. After launch, it will be positioned above the three-door versions in the company’s lineup.
Engine In 5 Door Thar
Talking about the power, the new 5 Door Thar versions of Thar will be available with the existing engine options.
BSS complain 1,997 cc two-liter four-cylinder install on turbo petrol engine, which can produce 150 BHP of power and 320 NM of peak torque.
And BSS Complaint retuned 2,198 cc 2.2-liter M-of turbo diesel engine, which can churn out 130 BHP of power and 300 N-M of peak torque.
Mileage
The engine can deliver the mileage between 14 to 18 KMPL. The engines will be fitted to an optional six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
An optional 4×4 drive train system with a manual seat transfer case will come as standard.
Exterior Look 5 Door Thar
Talking about the exterior look, the new generation 5Door Thar will be almost a semi-look as the outgoing thar, except a few changes.
Upfront, it will get the circular headlines, but now in all LED projector setup, along with LED DRLs instead of the halogen unit.
The new updated grill with the new slack pattern, new LED fog light setup, and updated front bumper.
Side View Of 5 Door Thar
The side will not get major changes, except bigger wheelbase with 18-inch new crystal cut alloy wheels and two doors in each side, along with side footrests.
The rear profile also will get rear rectangular LED tail lights, but with a slightly different lighting pattern, rear washer, depogah, rear wiper, tailgate mounted, spare wheel, and updated rear bumper with bumper mounted rear fog light housing.
The interior of the SUV will receive minor changes than the existing model.
5 Door Thar Function
The recently spotted test mules shows in number of details. The SUV will continue the same airy cabin, power digestible steering wheel with steering mounted controls, cruise control,
semi-digital instrument cluster, push-button start and stop, remote killess entry, premium sound system with roof-mounted speakers, automatic climate control, multiple bottle holders, Bluetooth-enabled music system with ox and USB connectivity, and leather upholstery.

In addition, the new model will receive new updated big task in improvement system with Apple CarPlay Android Auto, along with Bluetooth navigation system, along with Mahindra software compatibility,
New front armrest with extra storage, driver-side a-pillar mounted grab handles, sunglasses holder, and bigger boot space in compared to the three-door variant due to its bigger wheelbase.
Sunroof in 5 Door Thar
The biggest inclusion in the new model is the factory-fitted electronic sunroof. The tasemile shows the same five-seating capacity as the current model.
Still, it is not clear whether the production versions of the new five-door thar will offer five-seating or seven-seating capacity.
Meanwhile, the recently spotted spy shots confirms that the new five-door thar will get electronic single-pane sunroof.
Saftey Features In 5 Door Thar
The new five-door versions of thar will be equipped with a number of standard safety features, including AVS with EVD, engine immobilizer, hill start and hill descent control,
Electric stability control, automatic emergency braking, speed sensing, automatic door lock, seatbelt reminder, six airbags, isofix child support anchorage, speed alert, roll cage, panic braking signal, lane keeping assist, snow-chain provision for tyres, central locking, and rear parking camera with sensors.
5 Door Thar Launching Date
The new five door versions of thar will come in the Indian market in the middle of 2024.
Pricing Of Mahindra 5 Door Thar
The new five-door versions of thar will be about one to two lakhs more expensive than the three-door versions.
The expected price range would be between 14 to 18 lakh ex-showroom. After launch in the Indian market, the SUV will be the rival of the Force Gurkha Five-door and Maruti’s Suzuki Jimny Five-door.
