2024 Mahindra XUV500
At present, two famous Indian car manufacturers, Tata and Mahindra, do not have suv in the famous and most competitive c segments.
Tata has already decided to bring the car SUV in this segment, and Mahindra too, is planning to enter this segment with a new SUV but in a familiar nameplate.
According to media reports, Mahindra is bringing back the Xuv 500 SUV in the indian market as a c-segment SUV.
The code name of the SUV is S 301. The current XUV 500 has been discontinued by the company as Mahindra launched the Xuv 700 premium SUV in place of it.
Size of XUV500
The new upcoming Mahindra Xuv 500 will be smaller in size in compared to the discontinued model to accommodate only five passengers.
The new Xuv 500 will be 4.2 to 4.3 metres long instead of the current 4.6 metres length.
Mahindra is expected to build this SUV on the same platform as the Xuv 300.
Mahindra is bringing this SUV as a direct rival of Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda, Kushaq, MG Astor and Kia Seltos.
Mahindra was trying to codevelop this SUV with Ford based on Brewable’s B 772 platform, but this agreement came to an end at the beginning of 2021.
XUV500 Pricing
Mahindra is bringing this Suv to fill up the gap between Xuv 700 and Xuv 300. Mahindra has a plan to bring this SUV to the Indian market at the end of 2024 at the expected price range between 9.99 to 17 lakhs Ex-Showroom.
Engine
In terms of power, the suv is expected to be available with two engine options BSS complaint 1.5 litre diesel engine which can produce 117 bhp of power and 300 nm of peak torque and
A 1.5 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine which can produce 163 bhp of power and 280 nm of peak torque.
The engines will be mated to an optional six speed manual and a six speed AMT transmission.

In terms of exterior styling, the suv will get sportier rug look and will receive the design inspirations from the Xuv 700.
Up front, it will get sleek led projector headlights with inserted led drls, blacked out chrome inserted front grille with Mahindra’s badging at the centre, white black air intakes, updated front bumper, bumper mounted black inserted led fog lights housing,

the side profile will get power war beams with indicated turn indicators, body colour door handles, tinted glass, chrome strip at the windows, roof rail, large wheeluxs with black padding and new set of 16 inch crystal car multispoke alloy wheels.
