Tesla is about to give you guys the option of paying 1,500 to $2,000 to unlock a huge amount more range from your battery.

Elon Musk is saying it depends which battery you have, and you will be able to get more range from what most Tesla vehicles that have been on sale over the past 12 months.
This is a big move here from Tesla. It’s going to unlock for more revenue for them and more range for you.
A lot of people have been saying, Can I get an upgrade to my range on my EV? Can I pay extra to unlock more range? Well, not right now, but you will be able to in a few weeks.
Understanding the Range Upgrade
Elon Musk has revealed the details of this new upgrade. A lot of people are very keen for this to unlock more range from their EV, even if it’s not a huge amount.
But actually, it’s a pretty significant amount that, apparently, Tesla will give It’s really the option of getting very soon.
Tesla will soon allow the 260-mile Model Y Revolver drive. That’s the most commonly sold Model Y worldwide.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of these that have been sold all around the world.
Battery Variations and Their Impact
The Chinese version of this vehicle has the same battery pack as the US version. I don’t know how this is going to work for the German version because the German version, that battery pack, about halfway through, Tesla changed that battery, and they began using BYD batteries instead of CATL.
But the batteries in the US version and the China factory version are the same. They’re CATL, lithium-ion phosphate battery cells.
Unlocking the Potential
I assume this would mean Tesla will unlock this range for your car if it was made in China or if it was made in the United States.
I don’t know about the German version because like I said, BYD blade battery, different battery.
Tesla will allow the 260-mile Model Y Real Drive, which is around about 455 kilometers WLTP outside of the United States, to have more range by paying 1,500 to $2,000, depending on the battery pack.
Decision to Charge for Upgrades
It’s actually possible that The range will vary depending on the battery pack that you have.

There might be a few things Tesla have done to unlock this extra range. However, it’s a big change 40 to 60 miles, that’s a lot.
Model Y Lineup Changes
I mean, 60 miles is 100 kilometers. This has come right as Tesla had changed the Model Y standard range in America.
You can’t buy it anymore it’s not for sale. You can only buy existing inventory stock, which are actually pretty cheap, by the way.
It’s worth having a look at them.
Long Range Model Y
But the Tesla Model Y long range now comes in a real drive version, and that’s $45,000 or $44,990.
That is more than the Tesla Model Y LFP standard range. But it does have a lot more range.
It comes standard with 320 miles of range, plus it has faster charging, 250 kilowatt faster charging battery pack.
Final Thoughts on the Upgrade Option
In my opinion, it’s the best-value Tesla Model Y in history. It does qualify for USAV incentives.
It’s the longest range Model Y Tesla offers, and it’s the cheapest. It’s an absolute no-brainer, in my opinion.
