I’ve got the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer. This is Chevy’s smallest crossover and this one that I have tops out at $35,000. That’s the most expensive trailblazer that you can get.
And I’ll tell you why the 2024 model version is the one that you want to get because this thing is feature packed.
It’s got big screen panoramic sunroof, new redesign, and this one has all will drive. So let’s begin with the outside first.

This is a refreshed model, but I think you have to squi really hard to tell the difference between this one and the previous years.
Starting with the daytime running lights, it is a lot slimmer than before. And if you look at the grill, the grill does look a bit wider and slimmer at the same time.
So this matches the bigger brother, the blazer and also the Chevy tracks. This bow tie emblem is placed a little bit further down compared to last year’s model.

And if you look at the headlight, this has been reshaped, so it looks a little bit smaller. This still has LED hardware of course, and if you look down more sportiness, you could find this faux carbon fiber look to it.

Now looking at the side, this is more or less the same design as before you get this two-tone paint design. This one is called fountain blue and it’s a very striking blue. This is new for the 2024 model year.
And with the two-tone paint, you get the black roof, the black A pillars, and you also have the matte black rocker panels and also the black lower front and rear fascia giving the illusion that this has a higher ground clearance and it’s actually not bad here.

New for the 2024 model year, you get these 19 inch wheels, pretty attractive design and it gives the car a premium look.
As for the rest of the profile, you have nice character lines providing some interesting look that floating roof design and looking at the rear, very slight redesign.

There are two bumper designs Of course this is the RS design and it looks more sporty with the vertical reflectors. I like how it’s inset in here, giving the car a beefier presence. So all in all, not a bad looking small crossover.
And I think this redesign makes the small trailblazer just a little bit like the bigger brother, the blazer and the tracks, but still maintaining that small urban dweller type of car. New Version Of Chevy Trailblazer

Moving inside the 2024 model year also gets a very nice refresh inside and this is the reason why you wanna buy the 2024 model year over the previous ones.
Display Size & Stereo System In Chevy Trailblazer
First of all, you get this driver oriented layout, you get this really nice 11 inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
You got wireless apple CarPlay and wireless Android auto, you got Bluetooth audio for two active devices and you still have the physical volume dial on the screen.
And I also like the way this infotainment system works. It’s simple, straightforward though it can be a little bit slow upon startup, but generally speaking the performance is pretty good.
And right straight ahead you have this eight inch digital driver display. It’s simple, you don’t have any extra fluff with like different designs and everything. And I like that both of these screens is standard across all the trims.

I like the amount of physical buttons on the steering wheel and just like other GM cars, there are buttons behind the spoke for your volume and channel controls.
And in this model you also get heated steering wheel and the button is on the steering wheel itself, which is a good design.
Console & Climate Parameter
Now moving to the center console, first of all you see a lot of red trim . Again, this is unique to the RS model, so it gives it a sportier feel.
And also if you look at the dash , there’s nice textures on here to give it just a little touch of class, but it still looks a bit economy. You get red contrast stitching, which makes it looks a little bit nicer.

It’s really nothing to write home about, but it’s very functional and I like that For this one, you also get heated seats.
Ports In Chevy Trailblazer
Now looking down below you have a couple of ports. You have your USB type C and type A connection still.
And down below you have your wireless charger. And I like how this one worked pretty reliably.
I have an iPhone 14 pro with the standard apple leather case and I just threw it in there and it was able to maintain a charge throughout my drive, which I can’t say the same for other wireless chargers. New Version Of Chevy Trailblazer
Buttons In Chevy Trailblazer
And then down you have a couple of different buttons. You have your auto start stop, lane keeping system, traction control button, your race flag mode.
There is also sport mode button. And of course this one comes with all wheel drive. And then back down you have your gear shifter.
And also there’s buttons on the side of the shifter. This is how you manipulate the nine speed automatic transmission.
When you are in low gear, that’s the only way you could change your gear manually. And then over to the side you have two cup holders and you could slot your phone nicely in between.
And right behind that you have a small cubby hole. You could put a large drink container into here if you want to. New Version Of Chevy Trailblazer
And then underneath the armrest you have a fairly small storage solution and this tray that you could remove.
As for the seats, they look pretty fancy. In this RS model, you get this RS stitching on the headrest and you also have the red contrast stitching along the side and the piping making the seat look a little bit nicer than the base trim.
This has the EVO text material, which is a synthetic material. It’s supposed to replicate leather’s look and feel and tell you what, I really don’t mind the look of the seat.
It certainly looks more premium and because it’s synthetic material it shouldn’t get too hot or too cold in the extreme weather. And of course, like I mentioned before, this is also heated.
Back Side Seat
Now moving to the second row, there’s pretty good leg room here at 39 inches and there’s also good head room at 38.4 inches. I’m five foot nine Inch and I feel pretty comfortable inside.
Unfortunately there’s no vents back here. There are a couple of USB ports down below.
And there’s also a very good view because if you look up this one comes equipped with the panoramic sunroof. And as for cargo space, you have pretty good space back at 25.3 cubic feet.New Version Of Chevy Trailblazer
And I like how there’s also spare tire underneath. And if you need to expand the space, I like how you could just fold the second row seats down from back here and this will give you 54.3 cubic feet with the second row down.
Engine In Chevy Trailblazer
Now most importantly, what is it like to drive? Now the trailblazers only come with the three cylinder engine with a turbo.
Now depending on the trim or the drive type, you may get a 1.2 liter turbo with a CVT or a 1.3 liter turbo with a nine speed automatic transmission.
This RS model gets the more powerful, although not by much 1.3 liter turbo, which is making 155 horsepower and 174 pound feet of torque.
Now three cylinders may sound very tiny and very strange to you, but Chevy has been using this engine ever since this trailblazer crossover model came out.
And a couple of years ago, Toyota introduced the Toyota GR Corolla, which uses a three cylinder turbo engine and that one is pushing a stout 300 horsepower.
So rest assured that there’s some backing on the three cylinder engine design. Now, performance of this engine is sufficient. It’s not exciting, but it’s also not underpowered. You won’t be impressing anyone.
But for normal commutes, this has enough juice to get you out of Harry’s situations. The presence of a small turbo also gives you a decent jolt in the mid-range.
Now as for zero to 60, it does take a while somewhere in the ten second range. And once you start loading this with cargo and other passengers, you quickly realize how gutless this engine can be. New Version Of Chevy Trailblazer
Mileage In Chevy Trailblazer
As for fuel efficiency for the all-wheel drive model, it’s rated at 26 city, 29 highway and 27 combined miles per gallon.
And I like how you can use regular gas for this engine. Now when it comes to the ride quality, you’re not gonna mistake this car for a high end luxury car.
The ride is on the rough side and the new 19 inch wheels will naturally give you the harshest ride out of all the other smaller wheel options.
So that nice look does come at an expense, but only when it gets a little bit bumpy. Now, handling of the car is just fine if you keep it at low Speeds. The smaller size and the light steering give this a nimble and eager attitude.
But when you push it a little bit more, the car feels uneasy and also clumsy. The best thing this trailblazer has going for it is the small size and driving this around town, you just naturally feel more free and flexible.
And another benefit is that you still get that crossover ride height so you can still see around traffic.
So if you’re looking for a utilitarian car that can sort of do everything but is a little bit cheaper and also on the smaller side, then the trailblazer is totally it. But is it fun to drive? Not really. New Version Of Chevy Trailblazer
If you want to have a lot of fun at this price point, you’re gonna have to think more lower to the ground.
Say something like a Volkswagen GTI hatchback, which still has a lot of space back there for all of your stuff and a lot more power in the engine bay.
So the facelift trailblazer has a cleaner and neater face while looking more modern on the inside with more features packed in.
