New Mahindra XUV 500
The Indian car manufacturer Mahindra is bringing back the XUV 500 SUV in the Indian market as a C-segment SUV, The code name of the SUV is 301.
The current XUV 500 has been discontinued by the company as Mahindra launched the XUV 700 premium SUV in place of it.
The new upcoming Mahindra XUV 500 will be smaller in size compared to the discontinued model to accommodate only five passengers.
Size
The new XUV 500 will be 4.2 to 4.3 meters long instead of the current 4.6 meters length. New Mahindra XUV 500
Mahindra is bringing back this SUV in the most competitive midsize SUV segments as a direct rival of Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda, Kushaq, MG Astor and Kia Seltos.
Mahindra was trying to codevelop the SUV with Ford based on Brewable’s B772 platform, but the agreement came to an end at the beginning of 2021.
Price
Mahindra is bringing this SUV to fill up the gap between XUV 700 and XUV 300.
Mahindra has a plan to bring this SUV to the Indian market in the end of 2024 at the expected price range between 9.99 to 17 lakhs.
Engine Details
In terms of power, the SUV is expected to be available with two engine options BSS complaint 1.5 liter diesel engine which can generate 117 bhp of power and 300 nm of peak torque New Mahindra XUV 500
a 1.5 liter four cylinder turbo petrol engine which can produce 163 bhp of power and 280 nm of peak torque.
The engines will be mated to an optional six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission.
