Mahindra 5 Door Thar Launch Date
The Indian car manufacturer Mahindra is now all set to introduce the most waited 5 Door versions of the second generation Thar.
The new five-door versions of Thar is reported to be hitting the production slots in June 2024.
The new upcoming Thar five-door is a B2 segment SUV. Meanwhile, the test mule of the new Thar has been spotted several times testing on the Indian Road with camouflage wrapping.
Dimension Of 5 Door Thar
The five versions of Thar will have three metres longer overall and will have 300mm longer wheelbase as compared to the three door versions.
Besides that, the new model will come with a number of exterior design changes than the current model.
5 Door Thar Exterior
The new Mahindra Thar will be based on Mahindra’s ladder on frame architecture as the Scorpio N.
According to the report, the new five door Thar will come with optional 4X4 and 4X2 powertrains and six new colours.
After launch, it will be positioned above the three-door versions in the company’s lineup.
Pricing 5 Door Thar
The new five door version of Thar will come to the Indian market in the month of August 2024, at the expected price range between 14 to 18 lakhs, ex-showroom.
The new five door Thar will be no doubt more expensive than the three door versions.
After launch in the Indian market the SUV will be the arrival of Force Gurkha five door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny five door.
Power In 5 Door Thar
Talking about the power, the new five door Thar will be available with the existing engine options.
➤ BS6 1997cc 2 litre four cylinder mStalilon turbo petrol engine, which can produce 150 Bhp of power and 320 NM Of peak torque and
➤ BS6 complaint Retune 2198cc 2.2 litre m-Hawk turbo diesel engine, which can churn out 130 bhp power and 300 NM of peak torque.
Mileage
The engine can deliver the mileage between 14 to 18 kmpl. The engines will be mated to an optional six speed manual or a six speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
An optional 4×4 system with a manual shift transfer case with come as standard.
Exterior styling Of 5 Door Thar
Talking about the exterior styling, the new generation five Door Thar will be almost as same as the outgoing Thar, except few changes.
Up front it will get the circular headlights, but now in all LED projector setup along with LED DRLs instead of halogen unit.
The new updated grille with the new slat pattern, new LED foglights housing and updated front bumper.
Side View
The side profile will not get major changes, except bigger wheelbase with 18 inch crystal cut alloy wheels and two doors in each side, along with side footrests.
Back Side
The rear Profile will also get rear rectangular LED tail lamps, but with a slightly different lighting pattern.
Rear washer and defogger, rear wiper, tailgate mounted spare wheel and updated rear bumper with bumper mounted, Rear foglights housing.
5 Door Thar Interior
The interior of the SUV will receive minor changes than the existing model. The recently spotted test model shows a number of details.
➤ The SUV will continue the same airy cabin, power adjustable steering wheel with steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, semi digital instrument cluster, push button start and stop,
➤ Remote keyless entry, premium sound system with roof mounted speakers, automatic climate control, multiple bottle holders,
➤ Bluetooth enabled music system with ox and USB connectivity, and leather upholstery.
➤ In addition, the new model will receive new updated big touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay Android Auto along with Bluetooth navigation system, along with Mahindra’s new Adenoix software compatibility.
➤ New font armrest with extra storage, driver’s side A-pillar mounted grab handles, sunglass holder and bigger boot space in compared to the three door variant due to its bigger wheelbase.

The biggest inclusion in the model is the factory fitted electronic sunroof. The table shows that the same five seating capacity as the current Thar.
Still, it is not clear whether the production versions of the new five door Thar will come as five seating or seven seating capacity.
Meanwhile, the recently spotted spy source confirms that the new five door Thar will get electronic single pane sunroof.
Safety Features In 5 Door Thar
