Lamborghini Urus SE
Lamborghini introduced their first hybrid supercar in 2023, with the Revuelto creating quite a stir.
In 2024, Lamborghini just introduced the first plug-in hybrid super SUV, the Urus SE, at the Auto China, Beijing.
Urus has developed into a best seller for Lamborghini who look forward in their new journey towards decarbonization and electrification with the Urus SE.
The Urus SE, from the looks of it, stands distinct as a Lamborghini. The Urus design has been further sharpened with elements borrowed from the legendary Gallardo and their hybrid first-born, the Revuelto.
The front Fatia looks sharper and features a new hood with the floating design inspired by the Revuelto.
The Urus SE also features new headlight clusters and a brand new light signature inspired by the tail of the Lamborghini brand’s Bull.
The rear gets redesigned with inspiration from Gallardo’s mesh design and connects the Y-shaped tail lamps and the new rear diffuser.
Not just cosmetic, together with the new spoiler, the diffuser increases rear downforce by 35% at high speeds, further enhancing stability.
Engine Specs
Under that floating bonnet lies the twin turbo 4 liter V8 engine, which has been re-engineered to work an optimal synergy with the electric power train.
It develops 456 kilowatts of power and 800 Newton meters of torque, and an electric power train, delivering 141 kilowatts and 483 newton meters.
All this, and the 25.9 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, is situated below the load floor.
The system develops a total power output of 588 kilowatts at 6000 RPM and a total torque of 950 Newton meters.
Exterior Option
The Urus SE features two color options, an orange and a white, 23-inch alloy with exclusive Pirelli tires for different needs, and 100 bodywork options with 47 interior color combination options for customers to get ample choices to make their Urus one of a kind.
Interior Option
Interiors get inspired elements from their Ruevuelto, creating the weightless appeal.
A larger 12.3-inch touch screen, new anodized aluminum trim elements, and a new panel, seat, and dashboard coverings make for quite an experience in the cabin.
Feature
The Urus SE is special. It has two hearts, a thermal and an electric, which allows for highest ever torque and power output while boasting an an 80% reduction in emissions.
The permanent magnet synchronous motor located in the 8-speed automatic transmission also acts as a traction element, making the Urus SE a 100% electric four-wheel drive vehicle capable of traveling more than 60 kilometers in EV mode, attaining a top speed of 130 km/h, which is quite fast.
The new electric torque vectoring system with an electrohydraulic multi-plate clutch are designed and calibrated to best suit any type of grip condition and driving style, giving the Urus a go-anywhere ability.
Eleven options in driving modes. The introduction of the hybrid power train allows the existing six driving modes of the Urus, combined with four new driving options, that is EV drive, hybrid, performance, and recharge, making for a total of 11 options.
The Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes are for road and track use, and the Neve, Sabia, and Terra modes are for other terrains.
The EV drive is quite compelling with its figures and is best for urban commute, while the hybrid option features the Strada mode, giving maximum efficiency, comfort, and performance, making it the versatile option.
The recharge option, however, can be selected in Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Neve modes, and recharges to up to 80% of the battery.
Finally, the performance option opens its door to all the modes, and it’s for those who wish to experience driving dynamics only a Lamborghini can offer.
Ground Clearance
The suspension provides for a variable ground clearance depending on the driving mode selected, ranging from 15 millimeters in Corsa on the track up to 75 millimeters on the Terra mode for those off-roading adventures.
The latest Urus SE stands unique in its segment, creating quite a few benchmarks, which is typical of a Lamborghini as a brand.
Their journey towards electrification seems to be exciting with their most popular product, turning hybrid.
