Best And Worst Car Brands

What are the most disappointing car brands that owners regret buying? That’s what we’re going to find out.

I’m going to share the car brands with the lowest owner satisfaction, which owners were extremely disappointed with and regret buying.

And later, I’m also going to share the brands with the highest owner satisfaction which most owners would buy again.

This survey is from Consumer Reports, and according to the survey, there are seven car brands that have exceptionally high owner satisfaction, and there are also seven car brands that are the complete opposite.

Chrysler

So let’s start with the bottom seven, the brands that are the least satisfying to own. And the one that came in the number 7 place is Chrysler.

According to the survey, Chrysler earned a score of 2 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and 60% of owners say they would buy another one again.

Chrysler also happens to come in the very last place for reliability for 2024, so it seems that owners just have a lot of issues with them, which is really no surprise.

I’ve often recommended avoiding Chrysler’s for many years now, they just have a ton of issues, terrible customer service, and they also have really poor value for money, being extremely expensive to buy and having poor resale value.

Mercedes Benz

The next car brand that came in the number 6 spot just ahead of Chrysler is Mercedes Benz. Best And Worst Car Brands

Mercedes earned a score of 2 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and only 59% of owners said they would buy another one again.

This is another brand which received a lot of complaints from owners, with major complaints being reliability issues, technology, and comfort complaints, and generally just not getting their money’s worth for what they paid.

And like Chrysler, Mercedes was another rock bottom brand for this year’s reliability rankings. Best And Worst Car Brands

Audi

And the next brand we have that came in the number 5 spot is Audi.

Audi tied Mercedes, earning a score of 2 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and only 59% of owners said they would buy another one again.

Audi owners reported concerns with reliability, the usability of the technology, and again, not getting their money’s worth for what they paid.

So far, these brands are not really a huge surprise.

Jeep

I would say the same about the next brand that came in the number 4 spot, and that one is Jeep.

Jeep earned a score of 2 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and only 58% of owners said they would buy another one again. Best And Worst Car Brands

Jeeps have been criticized for their poor build quality, a high number of complaints with reliability issues, a lack of comfort, and being extremely overpriced.

Being a Stellantis brand like Chrysler customer service generally stinks when you do have issues that need resolving.

I’d say that the ranking on this one is pretty accurate.

Nissan

The next car brand that came just ahead of Jeep in the number three spot is Nissan.

Nissan earned a score of two out of five for owner satisfaction, and only 55% of owners said that they would buy another one again.

In this case, the major complaints were mostly related to comfort, noise, and the driving experience, especially with these smaller Nissan models like the Sentra and the kicks. Best And Worst Car Brands

There were, however, some quality complaints with certain models, too. Among Japanese brands, Nissan was the lowest ranking one.

Volkswagen

Now for the brand that came in the number two spot, and that one is Volkswagen.

Volkswagen earned a score of two out of five for owner satisfaction, and only 51% of owners said that they would buy another one again.

Volkswagen was another dud this year, ranking as one of the least reliable brands in the annual reliability study.

Their cars are generally problematic, especially as they age.

They’re expensive to repair, expensive to buy, and most of them are They’re really nothing that special, so I’m really at a loss as to why anybody would even bother.

But somehow, there is one car brand that was ranked even worse.

Infiniti

The number one car brand that had the lowest owner satisfaction is Infiniti.

Infiniti earned a score of only one out of five for owner satisfaction and only 43% of owners saying that they would buy another one again.

Infiniti is a brand that seems to be on the brink of total collapse, and they have sadly spiraled down Hill fast. Best And Worst Car Brands

From their glory years, that was ages ago.

There’s really little reason to consider them anymore, which is quite sad, but that’s where we’re at.

Top Five car brands that have the highest owner satisfaction.

Lexus

The first one that we have in the number Five spot is Lexus.

Lexus scored a 4 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and 73% of owners said that they would happily buy another one again.

The categories where Lexus scored highest were comfort and cost of ownership.

That’s not too surprising to hear, really, because not only does Lexus make some of the most comfortable luxury vehicles, but they also make some of the most reliable ones and the most inexpensive to own.

Genesis

just ahead of Lexus, the brand that came in the number 4 spot for the highest owner satisfaction is Genesis. Best And Worst Car Brands

Genesis actually tied Lexus with a score of 4 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and 73% of owners said that they would buy another one again.

The categories where Genesis scored highest were comfort, driving feel, and usability.

Owners love the comfortable, solid driving feel and the well-thought-out technology and controls that are not too overwhelming to use.

Helping earn its high score is the excellent service experience.

Genesis actually offers the longest warranty coverage of any luxury brand at five years, and they even include complementary maintenance for the duration of the warranty.

In Canada, this even includes at-home valet service with pickup and drop off with a Genesis loner vehicle. Best And Worst Car Brands

With perks like that, it’s no surprise why owners have been extremely happy with them, at least under the warranty.

Tesla

Next up, the brand that we have that came in the number 3 spot is Tesla.

Tesla earned a score of 4 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and 74% of owners said that they would happily buy another one again.

Tesla owners praised the driving feel, the cabin storage, and the low cost of ownership, which were the categories that Tesla earned top marks.

It’s also worth adding that Tesla is one of the only high volume sales automakers to earn such a high owner satisfaction score, which, to be fair, is really no easy feat.

Porsche

Moving on, the next car brand that came in the number 2 spot for the highest owner satisfaction is Porsche. Best And Worst Car Brands

Porsche earned a score of 4 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and 76% of owners They said that they would buy another one again.

Porsche owners praise the comfort and the driving feel of their cars, which are categories where they earn top marks.

Porsche’s are very expensive to buy, and the ownership costs are certainly high as well.

But If you are in the market for a proper luxury vehicle, the experience really seems to be worth it. Best And Worst Car Brands

BMW

The next car brand that came in the number 1 spot is BMW. BMW actually tied Porsche, earning a score of 4 out of 5 for owner satisfaction, and 76% of owners said that they would buy another one again. Best And Worst Car Brands

BMW earned top marks from the owners for comfort, driving feel, and usability.

There’s no doubt that like Porsche, BMW makes some great driving vehicles, and while they are expensive to own as they age, they can be a good short-term purchase for those who prefer to lease or trade in their vehicle every few years.
