2024 Maruti Swift Hybrid
The Japanese automaker Suzuki has already unveiled the new generation Swift at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. The new Swift gets a familiar design overhaul but receives a number of styling updates.
The production of the 2024 Swift will commence soon in India.
The March 2024 is a B1 segment hatchback car with the seating capacity of five persons.
The Swift has been one of the brand’s best selling models since its inclusion in the Indian market. The new Swift is based on Maruti Suzuki modified high tech platform.
The new model is expected to make its way to India in March 2024, at the expected price range between 6.50 To 10 lakh, ex-showroom.
The new Swift will be sold in the Indian market through Suzuki’s 18 outlets.
After launch, it will be the main rival of Tata Tiago, hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift, Citroen C3, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza and Hyundai EXter.
Color Option
Globally, the new Swift offers 13 exterior color options, including nine monotone and four dual tone sets and three variants base variant XG, mid variant MX and top variant MZ.
Engine
In terms of engine, the new Swift now gets an all new 1198cc 1.2 l three cylinder naturally aspirated Z-series mild hybrid petrol engine, which is codenamed as Z12 E.
The new engine can produce 89 bhp of power and 139 of peak torque. It will be a highly fuel efficient and will be lighter than the existing K-series.
The new engine will help to reduce carbon emissions. The new engine will get mill hybrid technology along with an idle start stop function, which will deliver the mileage of 24.5 kmpl.
Suzuki is a plan to replace the K-series engines with the new Z-series unit in future, but we will have to wait and watch whether the Indian specification Swift will come with the existing K-series engines or Z series unit.
Gear Option
In terms of transmission, the new Indian specification model is expected to get a five speed manual or a five speed automatic transmission options, whereas the Japanese model offers CVT transmission.
Dimension
Talking about the dimensions the new Swift is 3860mm in length, 1695mm in width, 1500mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2450mm, which means the new Swift is 15mm longer, 30mm taller, and 40mm narrower than the outgoing model.
Swift Design
In terms of design, the new Swift gets in number of cosmetic changes than the current model.
The form gets new gloss black honeycomb patterned grille, a surrounding bezel with a gap of radar sensors on the top, Suzuki badging beneath the clamshell bonnet, slimmer headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs
Widened sleek air dams, black accented air splitters with foglights housing, and fully reworked front bumper with silver garnish in the lower portions of the bumper.
Side View
The side profile not receives major changes except blacked out B and C pillar. Newly designed five spoke 15 inch diamond cut alloy wheels and body side plastic cladding.
The rear door handles are now be seen on the door panels instead of the C-pillar.
The rear profile receives new wraparound updated C-shaped LED tail lamps, a strong beltline that runs across the length of the car to merge the taillights
slightly tweaked tailgate, rear washer defogger rear spoiler with spoiler mounted emergency braking light.
New updated rear bumper with bumper mounted horizontally placed reflectors, and gloss black finish at the lower sections of the rear bumper.
Interior View
Talking about the interior styling, the interior of the new Swift now comes with a completely new design compared to the outgoing model.
It will get the design inspirations from the Maruti Baleno and Fronx.
➤ The interior of the new Swift will get a completely revamped Dualtone dashboard with rectangular AC vents, three spoke steering wheel, steering mounted controls along with silver highlights.
➤ The new semi digital instrument cluster with multi-information TFT display, freestanding nine inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay Android Auto along with Bluetooth navigation system
➤ Smartphone connectivity and even before premium sound system with four speakers and two tweeters, remote trunk opener, front and rear cupholders.
➤ Automatic climate control with rear AC vents, automatic wiper, vanity mirror, push button start and stop, remote keyless entry
➤Well cushioning seats for comfortable ride with adjustable driver seat, rear seats with 60/40 splitting options along with bigger boot space, the new swift gets a number of safety and assist features.
➤ The new hybrid Swift, shown at the Japan Mobility Show, was equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance system
➤ Electronic parking brake and front camera, but we will have to wait and watch whether the Indian specification model will get these features or not.
