Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition

Ducati made a huge announcement with this Superquadro final edition that they’ve just announced of the Panigale V2.

we’ll go through all of the details of this limited run of bikes with absolutely everything that you need to know about it.

End of the Panigale V2 Era

I think it’s safe to infer from the announcement of this final edition that the Panigale V2, at least with this specific engine, will cease to exist at the end this model year.

I mean, V2-powered Superbikes are essentially what Ducati are most well known for.

hard to get your head around them not having a bike like the Panigale V2 in their lineup, and so maybe it will come back just with a different engine.

But ultimately, at the moment, this announcement must come down to the fact that sales just aren’t strong enough to justify almost constantly updating the engine in order to meet increasingly strict emissions regulations.

I mean, in their sports bike lineup, you’ve got the Super Sport, which is the most relaxed entry point at about 110 horsepower.

This, the Panigale V2, which is about 155 horsepower. And then right at the top of the lineup, the Panigale V4, of course, which makes well over 200 horsepower.

So perhaps they’ve just got too many sports bikes in the lineup, and the Panigale V2 maybe falls a little bit in between the two.

It’s not as easygoing and affordable as the SuperSport, but it doesn’t have that proper out and out performance and premium aspiration that you get from a bike like the Panigale V4.

How the Panigale V2 Fits in Ducati’s Lineup

The thing is, though, I think it’s a huge shame because in my opinion, the Panigale V2 is probably the best of the bunch to ride, certainly if you’re riding on the road.

I think I just had a bit more fun and generally a better on the Panigale V2 because it does feel that little bit more slender and agile.

And realistically, out on the open road, it’s really quite seldom that you get any opportunity to use all that extra power that you get in the V4.

So yeah, for me, it’s a fantastic bike, and what better way to see it off, potentially, than a special edition as beautiful as this one.

Why the Panigale V2 is Great for Riders

Now, of course, it’s built upon the standard Panigale V4, but whereas that bike costs 17,195 in the UK, so already not an insubstantial amount of money, this Superquadro final edition is a whopping £23,500.

So what do you get for your extra money? Well, it is the same engine. Like I say, it’s the Superquadro V-Twin.

It’s the most advanced V-Twin they’ve ever made. And so it puts out the same 155 horsepower peak and 104 newton-metres of peak torque.

The chassis is also largely the same as well. So the same frame, swing arm, the wheels, the brakes, all look to be in common.

But whereas the Panigale V2 standard bike gets suspension from Showa, this Superquadro final edition gets a bit of an upgrade.

You’ve got Ohlin suspension all round with an NIX 30 43 millimeter upside down fork, and that gets a low friction titanium nitride coating for even better performance.

At the rear, there’s a TTX 36 Ohlin shock. And then also in the cockpit, you’ve got an adjustable Ohlin steering damper.

What You Get with the Final Edition

I’m expecting even better ride quality on this particular edition of the Panigale V2.

Elsewhere, the bike is just covered in lots of little special details to give it that lift.

So you’ve got Rizoma-adjustable foot pegs to get the riding position absolutely dialed in.

And there is a dedicated a native rider’s seat for this special edition with the bike’s logo and the Italian flag, just for a bit of extra detail.

It’s worth adding the bike ships in a single seat set up as default as well, which I think is becoming more and more the case for Ducati’s lineup, and I think also perfectly reasonable for a special edition like this.

And then in the cockpit, well, you’ve got sports grips on the bar, so they say they offer a little bit better control when you’re riding quicker.

And also the top yoke is different to the standard bike with a billet aluminum construction, and the limited edition number of the bike is actually etched into it.

Now, elsewhere, there’s also a bit of a visual lift, as well as a little bit of weight saving from the carbon fiber bodywork pieces that they fit into this particular bike.

Unique Design and Livery

And these include the silencer the end cap, the front and rear mud guards, the swing arm protection, the chain guard, and also the clutch cover and the shock protector.

But what I think really makes this bike look very special indeed is the dedicated livery.

And they say this one was designed by their Centro Steale or their design center, but also in collaboration with Drudy Performance, who are, of course, famous for designing some of Valentino Rossi’s very eye-catching crash helmet designs.

Track-Ready Features

Now, for me, this bike is a brilliant combination of gray, black, white, and red, and I’m really loving those swooping shapes to the graphics and also the number boards as well.

But if you look a little bit closer, they’ve also incorporated some of the technical drawings of the Superquadra engine, And I think that’s just a very nice touch and a really fitting tribute for this particular final addition.

Then you’ve also got some track-specific items for this bike, which really do clean it up.

So you’ve got a license plate, removal kit available, some billet aluminum mirror blanks and also a billet racing field cap.

So if you do want to take this bike to the track, then firstly, you’re braver than me at over 20 grand. But secondly, you’ve got absolutely everything you need.

Limited to 555 Bikes

Naturally, this bike, of course, gets all the same rider rates and riding modes as the standard Panigale V2, so it really is comprehensive, and it’s all managed through the TFT display.

But specifically for this model, there’s also a dedicated startup screen, which I think is another nice little touch that’s just going to make it feel that little bit more special.

This is going to be limited to 555 units, and you’d expect them to sell out pretty quickly because while that 23,500-pound price tag is pretty steep for a Panigale V2,

Why the Final Edition is a Great Deal

it’s also relatively affordable versus some of the other special edition Ducatis that have come out recently, like the Bentley edition of the DiAvo V4 or the Lamborghini edition of the Streetfighter V4, both of which were around the 50 or 60,000-pound mark.

Plus, you do get your own dedicated bike cover thrown in, as well as a certificate of authenticity. So basically, it’s a bargain.
