5 Top Anticipated Motorcycles of 2025
The motorcycle launch season is almost upon us with many of the new bikes for 2025 expected to be announced in the next few months, but what bikes are we hoping for and which ones are you guys genuinely excited about?
we’ll go through what I think are your most anticipated bikes for 2025.
Aprilia’s New RS 457
So we’ll go by manufacturer in alphabetical order And first up, we’ve got a Aprilia New 457 who last year entered the small to mid capacity sports bike market with that RS 457.
This is a new parallel twin for them making 47 horsepower peak.
Now naturally with a new engine and platform like this, manufacturers will look to capitalize on their initial r and d investment by using it in other categories of bike and certainly one that came up frequently in your comments is a smaller, lighter and more affordable version of their excellent Tuareg 660 adventure bike.
To be fair, this is a high volume part of the market as well with the Royal Enfield, Himalayan being a strong seller as well as bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure, the BMW G 310 Gs, and more recently the CF Moto 450 mt.
So the rewards in sales are potentially there for a Aprilia and it also feels like they could add something to the market with the 660 version being a brilliant bike off road as well as having their signature swish styling.
There’s been a retro style bike that looks to be built on the same 457 platform with a fairly chilled out Roadster stance and riding position.
I’m sure the four 50 twin would go nicely here, two with a V twin S graph from the two 70 degree crank.
Although judging by the finishing kit and the shape of the fuel tank, this one looks like it could well fall under the motor gutsy brand, which is of course a sister company to a Aprilia both being part of the PIAGGIO group.
BMW R 20
Moving on to BMW and recently they unveiled a prototype for a new Power cruiser roughly based upon their R 18 platform, except this time it’s called the R 20.
I honestly think this is one of the coolest looking new announcements of the year so far, and so hopefully there’s a
A production version on the way, which would be a great competitor for the Triumph Rocket three for example, or Harley breakout.
The only thing I would beg of them is not to water it down too much.
The final production version of the R 18, for example, was a bit of a letdown after the beautiful sweeping styling of the original concept.
So hopefully they can keep this one more true to the stripped back aggressive essence of the prototype.
BMW R 1300 RT
Also expected from BMW is an update to that R 1250 RT Torah with the new 1300 bucks a twin that’s already been put to use in the GS and the GSR venture.
Now the RT in my experience, is already an awesome mal muer with plenty of power, loads of wind protection and an abundance of the latest tech,
but realistically, who’s gonna say no to a bit more punch and torque, and I’d also expect a few of the GSS electronic goodies to trickle down.
Ducati’s Upcoming World Premieres
Ducati always go pretty hard with the launch season.
Typically hosting a run of World premieres a fortnight apart through October and November this year though they kicked off early with a new PANICALE V4 in July with a complete redesign including a controversial new double-sided swing arm.
Now we don’t yet have the dates for the rest of their world premieres, but one bike that is expected is a follow-up to the PANICALE V2, which is currently set to be discontinued, at least with the current Super Quadro v twin engine.
As they announced this special final edition a couple of months back, perhaps a completely new engine will take its place or maybe they’ll use the 937 CC V twin that’s put to use across many, many bikes across their lineup.
Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with and I’m also hoping they’ll announce something else on their new super mono single cylinder platform.
They kicked it off with the HyperMotard 698, a bike that I thoroughly enjoyed riding earlier this year, but I’d be very surprised if they didn’t roll this engine out to more models.
A big Enjoy bike perhaps may be a lightweight middleweight sports bike. Let me know what you’d like to see from them down in the comments.
Honda’s 750 Twin Variations
Honda new 750s In a similar vein, Honda are expected at some point anyway to create more variations on their 750 parallel twin, which was first put to use in their CB seven 50 Hornet naked and later transplanted into their TransALP adventure bike.
It really is a very lively and fun engine that likes to spin up and it makes a respectable 90 horsepower peak.
So personally, I’ll be absolutely in favor of more styles of bike with it.
One that’s been floated is a sports bike with a CBR 750 R potentially being a tempting competitor for the likes of the Yamaha R7 aprilia RS 660 and Triumph Daytona 660 to name, but a few.
It is worth pointing out though that Hondas still have the CBR 650 R in their lineup,
so there’s a question as to whether they could accommodate both in their showrooms or whether they’d be willing to drop the six 50, especially considering an inline four gives them a point of differentiation in a market dominated by parallel twins and also with many sports bike riders preferring the rev nature of a four.
Now, another option for the 750 engine could be a retro, like a CL seven 50 equivalent to the CL 500 scrambler, which I think works quite nicely, or a GB 750 retro Roadster.
To me, these renders of what it could look like from wee bike in Japan look pretty tasty, and it could be a great alternative to something like a Bonneville, for example, especially if you want a bit more power at the top.
