Luxury and Power: The Lexus LC 500
Starting with the first car at number five, which is the Lexus LC 500, the LC 500 is an often overlooked car, but don’t sleep on this one because it is truly one of the best convertibles that you can buy.
Not only does it have incredibly striking eye-catching looks that look phenomenal, but it also has incredible luxury with an interior that’s just as nice as luxury vehicles that are double its price tag.
It’s also incredibly comfortable to drive and it has breathtaking performance.
The handling is phenomenal, and it’s one of the last vehicles in its price range that still has a proper naturally aspirated V eight engine that not only makes it very quick, but has a phenomenal engine sound.
And yes, the lc 500 is a very expensive car, but I’ve honestly driven supercar that are double its price tag that don’t feel anywhere near as special to drive.
The LC 500 is a truly phenomenal driving experience, and it’s actually a bit of a bargain in a way.
Lexus has phenomenal build quality and the LC 500 has a fantastic reputation for its reliability and even maintaining pretty strong resale value.
So it really isn’t too bad of a buy bottom line.
There are very few luxury vehicles that you can buy that give you this much style, this much performance and luxury and even reliability At this price.
The LC 500 is a fantastic car that you definitely should not be sleeping on.
Performance on a Budget: The Chevrolet Corvette
Now, if you’re looking for a convertible that’s a bit more reasonably priced or perhaps a full-blown performance car, then the convertible that you need to be taking a look at is the one at number four, which is the Chevrolet Corvette.
Now, I have to admit that I’m not exactly the biggest Corvette fan, but I cannot deny what a phenomenal car this is, especially at the price point.
It truly gives you the same mind blowing performance and striking looks that you get with supercar that cost two to three times its price tag.
And that’s really no exaggeration.
And nevermind the 600-700 horsepower ZR 106 versions, even the standard Corvette with its really powerful V engine is still a phenomenal performance car with great acceleration, great handling that is really more Than enough.
And not only do you get supercar looks and supercar performance at a fairly reasonable price, but this is just a really well-rounded car that also has pretty decent build quality.
And the V eight engine is the famous Chevy small block, which is not only straightforward to service but are also known to last a really long time too.
And to top it all off, the Corvette has one of the highest ratings in consumer reports owner satisfaction survey.
So clearly owners are extremely happy with them.
There’s a lot to like here in the Corvette really is one of the best convertibles that you can buy today.
Classic Roadster Charm: The BMW Z4
Now the next convertible that’s in the number three spot is the BMW Z4. The Z4 or Z4 is BMW’s Roadster.
It’s a classic two seater convertible with BMW’s Classic Formula, a powerful and smooth inline six cylinder engine underneath the hood rear wheel drive at the back.
And you can get it with either an automatic or new for 2025. A slick shifting six speed manual gearbox.
It’s a classic BMW Roadster formula, which really helped make BMW known for being the builder of ultimate driving machines.
And that’s really what the Z4 is. The performance, the handling, the whole driving experience of the Z four is truly fantastic, and it really is one of the best cars that BMW currently makes.
And even though it’s A BMW, it’s actually a surprisingly well made car. It has a good reputation for reliability.
And the B 58 inline six cylinder engine with either the automatic or six speed manual is known for being a fantastic reliable drivetrain.
So this is a really nice convertible that should not give you too many headaches down the road.
So if you’re shopping for a convertible in this price range, do not overlook this one. It’s a fantastic option to go with.
Porsche Perfection: The 718 Boxster GTS
Now, before we get into the more affordable options, I have one more expensive convertible to share.
And if you have the money, I truly believe that this is the very best convertible on sale today.
And that car is the one at number two, the Porsche 718 Boxster GTS.
Now, whether you go for a seven 18 and nine 11, all Porsche sports cars are known for being phenomenal driving cars.
But the 718 Boxster is known for being especially great.
It just has a phenomenal combination of fantastic performance, excellent handling.
And because it’s relatively small and lightweight, it’s just incredibly fun to drive.
It’s truly a shining example of what Porsche is best at and what the company is really well known for.
Now, you can get the box during a few different variants, but I would skip the base versions with the Turbo four cylinder engine
And go straight for the GTS, which gets a proper naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine that gives you incredible performance and also sounds amazing.
And of course, you can choose whether you want to have a proper six speed manual gearbox or a paddle shift, PDK.
Either way, you’re going to get a fantastic driving experience.
And not only that, but like other Porsche sports cars, Seven Eighteens are known for being extremely well made, fairly reliable, and they hold their value exceptionally well.
And that’s going to be especially true in the future because Porsche has just announced that they’re no longer going to be making the internal combustion engine for the 718 after 2025.
So this is really a collector car in the making. So no question, if you have the money, get one while you still can because when these cars are gone, there will never be anything like it ever again.
Unbeatable Fun and Value: The Mazda MX-5
And that brings us to the number one best convertible that you can buy, which also happens to be the most affordable convertible that you can buy which is the Mazda MX five.
I think it’s no secret that the MX five is one of the best convertibles and one of the best sports cars that you can buy, period.
And I would really put it this way.
all kinds of sports cars and supercars, and every time I leave those cars and get back behind the wheel of the MX five, I always think to myself, why on earth would you spend more money on anything else?
The MX five is a truly incredible driving sports car, and it really is a lot more fun to drive than a lot of supercars and sports cars that cost three times or four times its price tag.
And yes, while the MX five does not make a lot of power, the naturally aspirated two liter force cylinder engine only has a little over 180 horsepower.
But because it’s so small and so lightweight, it’s still surprisingly quick.
And because it’s so small and lightweight and has a perfectly balanced rear wheel drive chassis, it’s also unbelievably nimble and agile.
It really does feel like an energetic puppy dog that’s just bursting with energy and constantly bouncing around and just wants to have a whole lot of fun.
And of course, adding to the enjoyment is the six speed manual gearbox, which has one of the best shifters around.
And not only is the MX five fun, but it’s also an unbeatable value that no other sports car can even come close to matching.
You can get it with a fancy power folding hard top, but if you just go for the basic manual folding soft top, the starting price is only around 30,000 US or 35,000 Canadian, which is an incredible price point.
It’s also surprisingly fuel Efficient. You can easily get 40 miles per gallon or six liters per 100 kilometers driving this on the highway.
And not only is it affordably priced and fuel efficient, but it also has a fantastic reputation for its reliability.
In fact, the MX five is arguably the most reliable sports car that you can buy, period. Honestly, what’s not to like here? I mean, it is a small car and if you’re over six feet tall, you’re probably not going to fit inside it, which is a downer.
But aside from that, this is easily the best convertible and best sports car that you can buy, So if you wanna have the best convertible there is, that’s always going to put a smile on your face.
There’s no way around it. The Mazda MX five is it end of debate.
